Bankruptcy
Chapter 7 – I have represented consumers, business owners and corporations in handling every aspect of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy from simple consumer Chapter 7 BKs to one of the largest law firm liquidations in southern California.
Chapter 13 – Chapter 13 Bankruptcy can often stop foreclosures and assist homeowners in keeping their home and property. Second mortgages can be stripped away and credit card debt can be settled for pennies on t he dollar. And, I know how to do it. I have a very successful track record in getting Chapter 13 plans confirmed, liens stripped and mortgage issues resolved.
Chapter 11 – Businesses and even individuals can take advantage of the benefits of a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. They are difficult and often expensive. Because I am sole practitioner I can devote the time and energy to get debts on investment properties reduced to fair market value and second liens stripped. Debtors can reorganize their affairs over 5 years and sometime longer.
Adversary Proceedings – I am one of the few lawyers in the Central District that handles adversary proceedings in Bankruptcy. In these troubled economic times, creditors have become more aggressive. I have seen an increase in the number of creditors objecting to the discharge or the dischargeability of debts in Bankruptcy.
Bankruptcy Alternatives – Bankruptcy is not always the only solution and sometimes it is not the best solution. There are many alternatives to Bankruptcy to resolve your credit and debt issues. Business can pursue assignments for the benefit of creditors. Consumers can do informal work outs and negotiated settlement, often for a fraction of the actual debt owed.
